Jim Winger, CFPIM, CSCP
Jim Winger received a BS Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1975 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 2001 - with concentrations in economics, production management, and international business. In the past 40 years he has held positions of convenience store clerk, civilian KP, mine laborer, inventory clerk, plant manager, materials analyst, senior inventory control planner, materials planner, materials manager, senior buyer, production planner/master scheduler, production and inventory control manager, director of production and inventory control, customer service director, corporate materials manager, and senior management consultant, retiring in 2008 after 15 years as VP Materials and Logistics for Panduit Corp, in Tinley Park, Illinois. Currently, Jim is a Pima Community College adjunct instructor in economics.
Jim was president of the Tucson APICS chapter 1987-88 and was a technical presenter at the international conference in 1987. He also served in the 1980’s as CPIM instructor, VP, and board member, and was co-developer and instructor for a Pima Community College Production and Inventory Management program. He was certified as CPIM in 1979, CFPIM in 1980, CSCP in 2009, and Certified in Systems Integration by IIE in 1992. Jim has been process owner for MRP, MRP II, and global ERP and VMI implementations, developing logistics solutions in support of Europe (EMEA), Japan, China, India, Korea, ASEAN, Costa Rica, Brazil, and North America markets and operations. Jim’s current interests are electrical/electronics industry global supply chains, supply chain risk, and development economics. A senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and a member of APICS since 1977, Jim is an instructor for CSCP and Fundamentals of Operations Management.
