Job summary: Works with all project teams to provide research on components and collaborates with engineers and potential suppliers. Identifies and educates project team on the status of proposed parts meeting critical Supply Chain management areas of visibility, velocity and variability. Responsible for the ECO purchasing part structure set up, scheduling, and lead-time tracking of all purchased parts related to projects. Provides notification of required release date to the project manager in order to meet the schedule. Assists in the review, selection, and certification of suppliers while documenting all appropriate information. Works with potential suppliers of fabricated or custom parts to ensure that complete Design for Manufacturing has been reviewed and obtains signed Inspection Criteria agreement for part acceptability. Responsible for the manual tracking and reporting of Project Cost of Goods for components while understanding the net value and managing cost skillfully for the supply chain as a whole. Negotiates contracts with suppliers with a focus on protecting the interests of Juniper Systems, Inc. while creating a partnership environment for mutual growth and cost containment. Responsible for the procurement of approved requisitioned items following company guidelines. Responsible for the researching, conversion, scheduling and procurement of various purchased parts through the use of the MRP and ECO programs. Review assigned End of Life parts, roadmaps and alternative options for the reduction in COG, improved reliability and supply chain networking.
Requirements:Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, related field or equivalency of five to ten years of purchasing experience. CPM, CIPM or CSCP Certification required. Certification through APICS preferred. Knowledge and proven experience in the procurement field with multiple commodities. Experience in mechanical or electrical procurement preferred. Proven ability to make procurement and supplier decisions. Proficiency in the use of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Word/Excel.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning inventory levels required to meet shipment and operations objectives through manufacturing or purchasing. Interface with Suppliers and Manufacturing personnel as required to meet/exceed Customer Service requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
Review and take appropriate action on customer demand for Finished Goods or raw materials requirement.
Create purchase and work orders, modify existing POs / WOs, and expedite deliveries.
Work with suppliers to balance capacity and requirements to satisfy OTD and inventory levels.
Reconcile and improve supplier OTD.
Review, evaluate and make disposition of Excess and Obsolete inventory.
Manage supplier non-conformance issues.

Work with Product Managers and Planner to develop stocking / pull levels to support market demand.
Communicate any delays caused by abnormal demand or late parts.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing to establish priorities when bottlenecks exist.
Plan and execute capacity management.
Work with shop supervisor to manage workload and overtime.
Identify product structures and routing issues.
Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between manufacturing operations, QA, and suppliers.
Initiate and facilitate problem-solving teams, implement solutions and track results.
Identify, suggest and implement process improvements.
Maintain Data integrity with specific emphasis on system date accuracy.
Assures on-time delivery of materials through timely processing of purchase orders.
Obtain data, participate and present metrics and countermeasures to management.
Other misc. duties as assigned, back up for other Buyer/Planners.
Education:
4 yr. Degree or combination of education and appropriate materials experience
APICS Certification or training
CPM certification from ISM
Skills/Knowledges/Experience:
Five years experience as a Buyer/Planner
Lean inventory management process
Demonstrated work experience with MRP, Forecasting and Stocking Levels
Requires initiative, creativity and assertiveness, coupled with strong interpersonal,
communication and negotiating skills
Strong product/parts knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, purchasing and
planning processes.
Proficient in Oracle

Job Description
This position has responsibility for proper ordering, inventory levels and service levels as they pertain to IMAT-managed products, contributing to improved operational excellence, decreased supply chain costs, and improved customer service. Through a firm understanding of business fundamentals, regular supplier relations, effective work management, collaborative data sharing, and strategic/opportunistic buy execution, the Inventory Planner will ensure that orders are placed for the appropriate quantities at the most equitable prices needed to achieve optimal economic order performance, and maintain the appropriate inventory levels needed to achieve and maintain established service level goals for IMAT customers. This position is also accountable to monitor forecast accuracy as well as generating and reporting metrics pertaining to forecasting and other inventory planning-related activities in support of the IMAT purchase and inventory plan. This candidate will possess the outstanding integrity, basic communications skills and interpersonal skills required to effectively interface with the following functional areas: suppliers, sourcing, warehouse operations, and inventory operations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in logistics/supply chain management or business is required; Education is verified and degree must be obtained through an accredited institution
A minimum 5 years of inventory planning experience in a distribution operations center environment
Experience in a role requiring a strong customer service oriented outlook, in-depth experience with day-to-day supplier interface, and demonstrated ability to find initiative ways to recognize and respond to special buy opportunities
Experience with automated advanced planning/forecasting tools, including forecast management, maintenance and reporting functions, and must be familiar with automated/manual PO generation tools
Experience with various forecasting & replenishment models, including the ability to make purchasing decisions based on price points and shipping/freight costs
Must have the computer skills required to effectively use integrated ERP/WMS software applications, and advanced planning/replenishment tools
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively plan and organize their workload, while collaborating with multiple functional areas concurrently
